At a glance

  1. 01

Flat-rate prices without a conversation say little – the effort depends on the individual case.

  2. 02

Scope, content, design and features have the biggest impact on the effort.

  3. 03

Factor in ongoing costs – and compare quotes by what they include, not just by price.

01Why there is no flat-rate price

A website is not an off-the-shelf product but a project.

“How much does a website cost?” is one of the questions agencies hear most often. The honest answer: it depends – on scope, content and features. Rather than a flat-rate price, it is more helpful to know the factors that determine the effort.

02What determines the effort

  1. 01

    Scope

How many pages and page types there are.

  2. 02

    Content

Whether text, photos and translations already exist or still need to be created.

  3. 03

    Design

A bespoke design or an adapted template.

  4. 04

    Features

    Shop, appointment booking, forms, integrations.

  5. 05

    Maintenance

How easily you can change content yourself later on.

  6. 06

    Quality

Loading speed, search engines, accessibility, data protection.

03Ongoing costs

After launch, there are recurring costs: domain and hosting, maintenance, security updates and backups, licences where applicable – and further development. Ask when you receive a quote what will be added after launch and who will take care of it.

Since 28 June 2025, the Austrian Accessibility Act has also applied in Austria, for example to online shops; micro-enterprises providing services are exempt. Whether it affects you should be checked on a case-by-case basis.

04Comparing quotes properly

The best-value quote is the one that achieves your goals – with little follow-up effort.

  1. 01

    Scope of services

Are concept, design, development, content and training included?

  2. 02

    Rights

Who owns the design, code and content at the end?

  3. 03

    Support

What happens after launch, and how quickly can you get help?

  4. 04

    Preparation

Be open about your goals, content and budget – that makes the quote accurate.

Frequently asked questions.

Why do you not give flat-rate prices?

Because websites vary greatly in scope. A reliable quote can only be drawn up once goals, content and features are clear – that is what the initial conversation is for.

Can I extend the website later?

Yes, if it is planned for that from the outset. That is why it pays to think about the next steps right from the start.

How long does it take until the website is finished?

That depends on the scope and on how quickly the content is available. We agree the schedule together in the initial conversation.
